Another topic I wanted to share today and periodically is something I’m calling…
WOW: Words of Wonder
I have always loved words and the meaning of words and other definitions. I thought I might incorporate ones on theme. Most likely, we know what this word is and what it means, but sometimes it is eye opening to read it in a different or unexpected context. So today’s word of wonder is none other than:
Doorway

Cambridge Dictionary = the space in a wall where a door opens or a covered area just outside a door, the space for a door through which you go into and out of a room or building
Miriam-Webster = the opening that a door closes, a means of access or participation (opportunity) opens new doors; door to success. a means of reaching or gaining something
Dictionary.com = an opening into a building, room, etc. esp one that has a door; a means of access or escape, doorway to freedom;
Google synonyms: entrance, entryway (opening that acts as a way in), portal, gate, admission, key, passageway, etc.
Spiritual meanings: “The threshold of transition, choice, and new beginnings. It is a symbol of moving from one state of being, phase of life, or realm to another (Fringe Arts Bath.co.uk).” “Many traditions view doorways as connection points between the physical world and the spiritual, or the conscious and unconscious mind (google citing).” Often doorways are viewed as energetic boundaries. They could be new opportunities, paths, callings, etc for growth and purpose.
Other: “The door symbolizes transition, metamorphosis. It is an allegory of beginning, opening, exit that leads from one state of being to the next. The door signifieds the commencement of the new, while at the same time embodying the idea of an end.” (soc.kuleuven.be)
Any of those phrases or definitions stick out to you today? I’ve noticed sometimes phrases or parts might light up for me differently at different times depending what I’m becoming aware of in my life.
